Ralph joined Valuation Solutions on its formation in 2009 before founding Valuation Analytics in 2017.
He gained 20 years full time valuation experience within UK Inland Revenue (“HMRC”/”the Revenue”) in Shares & Assets Valuation (“S&AV”) in Nottingham before continuing as a consultant with Valuation Solutions for a further ten years. As a Senior Valuer in S&AV he managed a considerable caseload, undertaking the larger and more complex general valuation cases.
Ralph’s background includes a BA (Honours) in Economics and also hands-on experience from within HMRC as a computer specialist He is also a Fellow of the Society of Share and Business Valuers.
As well as dealing with standard trading companies and option valuations, Ralph specialises in the valuation of businesses and intangible assets within the leisure and gaming industries, internet and computer technology businesses, the bloodstock and livestock sectors and also the valuation of non-UK companies.
He has a deep understanding of the valuation drivers in these fields, and in HMRC was one of the most experienced and senior caseworkers in these often-misunderstood areas.
Ralph has led many valuations that have had an interface with the Revenue, capitalising on his experience and personal contacts there.

Tony Hindley
Consultant
Tony joined HMRC in 1983, becoming an Inspector of Taxes in 1985. In 1990 he moved to HMRC’s Shares Valuation Division where, after formal valuation training, he became a member of the Special Cases team dealing with the larger and more complex issues. Later he specialised in the valuation of goodwill and other intangible assets and was instrumental in the development of the Revenue’s current policy and practice in this difficult area.
In 1995 Tony joined Coopers & Lybrand Corporate Finance valuation team as a senior manager, where he gained experience in a wide variety of valuation scenarios including the fiscal valuation requirements of large multinational businesses and the intellectual property rights (“IPR”) and intangible assets often found in such organisations.
Tony has undertaken many hundreds of valuation appraisals including the valuation of Patents, Musical (and other) Copyright, Design Rights, Image Rights, Software, Trademarks, Know-How, Goodwill and Brands as well as non-quoted shares and businesses.
He is a Registered Business Valuer with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Fellow (and ex Member of Council) of the Society of Share and Business Valuers and was a Law Society accredited expert witness (1999 – 2017).
Ulyana Sakharova
Consultant
Ulyana joined Valuation Analytics in 2019 and is receiving intensive training in the art of share and business valuation. She is an Associate Member of the Society of Share and Business Valuers in the UK. She is a leading expert in mathematical modeling and information technology with fifteen years’ experience.
Her background includes an MA (Honours) in applied mathematics and computer science.
She has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in the analytical departments of government agencies, including the analysis and modeling of economic processes and objects at the micro, macro and global levels; monitoring of economic and mathematical models; forecasting, and multivariate analytical calculations in the fields of economic and management activities.
